Because sharing brings happiness:
community energy projects.

Green energy from sun and wind creates sustainable benefits for communities and regions. It not only promotes climate protection, but also local development by creating jobs and benefiting communities financially. The municipality receives an annual payment per kilowatt hour generated, which can be used flexibly – for example to support school meals or as a subsidy for rooftop solar systems.

With the citizen electricity model, all residents of the municipality benefit directly: the income is distributed to all people who have been resident in the municipality for a specified period of time. Payment is made once a year and is governed by a trust agreement. This procedure is simple, transparent and takes into account the interests of all parties involved.

THE NUMBERS: COMMUNITY ENERGY PROJECTS – AN EXAMPLE

  • Remuneration to the municipality: 0.2 cents per kWh or 200 euros per MWh
  • Annual yield of a solar park: approx. 144 MWh net
  • Income for the municipality: approx. 288,000 euros per year

For a municipality with 3,700 inhabitants, this means an annual payment of around 78 euros per person. For a 4-person household, this results in an amount of 312 euros – a sum that significantly reduces annual electricity costs.
